(Gant) Langdoc

Mary Rebecca (Gant) Langdoc passed away January 7, 2017 at Eastlake Nursing Center in Elkhart. She was born July 26, 1915 on a farm near Winamac, IN to William and Clara Gant. Following her father's death in 1919, she and her mother moved to Valparaiso, IN. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Cecil Langdoc, whom she married in 1937. She is survived by children William (Mary) Langdoc of Friendswood, TX; Thomas (Margaret) Langdoc of Chandler, AZ; and M. Jean (Tim) Osborne of Goshen; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Mary graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1933. In school she enjoyed soccer and Latin contests. Mary was a school secretary at Hawthorne and Woodland Schools in Elkhart. She had been active in the PTA and was an officer at the school, city, and state levels. Mary was also active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, Married Women's Club, United Methodist Women, and as a volunteer at Elkhart General Hospital. Until late in life, she was an avid reader, crossword puzzler, gardener, and genealogist. Private funeral service will be held on January 11, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St.
Instead of flowers a donation to Bashor Children's Home was requested by Mary.
