Mary Louise Harder, 86, of Elkhart, IN, passed on October 16, 2026, at Hubbard Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart. She was born on June 6, 1940, in Fremont, OH, to Avery and Lois (Clayman) Humphrey.

Mary wed James Harder on October 10, 1959, in Oak Harbor, Ohio. Before his death on October 10, 2017, they shared 58 years of marriage.

She retired from Bank One/Chase Bank after many years in the Trust Department. She was formerly a secretary at Grace Lutheran Church and true to her love for music, was the organist for 40 years at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.

Surviving is her daughter, Jennifer Fisher, Huntington, IN, son, James Steven (Johanna) Harder, and two grandsons, Trenton and Bryce Harder, Sacramento, CA. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Harder, a sister, Joanne Konieczny, and son in law, Dan Fisher.

Funeral service will be 11:00am, Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be 5-7pm, Wednesday, October 21, at Hartzler Gutermuth Inman Funeral Home, and 10-11 am, Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery. Elkhart, IN.
