Michael J. "Mike" Malone, 74, of Elkhart, died on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart.

Mike was born September 15, 1945 in Menominee, WI to the late Will and Dolores (Shafer) Malone.

On October 25, 1975 he married Deborah I. Derr in Elkhart.  She survives along with his brother, John (Leigh) Malone of Ft. Wayne, IN.

Mike was a proud 1963 graduate of Elkhart High School and attended Indiana University, Bloomington campus.  Upon returning to Elkhart he took a position with St. Joseph Valley Bank (now Chase) and worked for a number of years in consumer lending.  He then took a position with First Source Bank where he worked for many years in small business lending prior to his retirement.

Michael was a longtime member of the Elkhart Lions Club and a huge Notre Dame football and basketball fan.  After his retirement, he turned his hobby of antiquing into somewhat of a second career, dealing mainly in Shipshewana and Elkhart.  He made many friends in both of his "careers" and will be greatly missed.

Per Mike's wishes, private family services will be held and he will be laid to rest at Rice Cemetery.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
