Nora Faye Beard, 64, of Elkhart, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Nora was born on November 5, 1953 in Manila, AR to the late Lucain and Pearlie Mae (Bledsoe) Beard.  Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Patricia, two sons, Anthony and Frank Lewis Jr.; seven brothers and one grandson, Brian Beard.

Left to mourn her loss is her loving companion of forty years, Frank Lewis; one son, Michael (Kendra) Beard and two daughters; Jacklin (Clinton) Beard-Green and Michelle Beard, all of Elkhart; thirteen grandchildren; three sisters; Pearlie Mae Hunt of Elkhart, Laura Beard Wright of Columbus, GA, Rev. Linda (Tedario) Beard-Barnes of Elkhart; two brothers, Jessie (Christine) Beard of Indianapolis, IN, Bishop Frank (Melissa) Beard of Springfield, IL; two uncles, Robert Smith of Elkhart, Phillip (Betty) Smith of Saginaw, MI, her favorite cousin, Freddie Hassiel of Chicago, IL; two sisters-in-law, Blonda Beard of Elkhart and Caroline Beard of Houston, TX and a god-daughter, Brittney Barnes of Mishawaka, IN.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Nora was a graduate of Elkhart High School and a devoted homemaker.  She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.  She was also an amazing baker, often baking treats for others "just because she wanted to."

Visitation for Nora will be held on Friday, March 9th from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
