Pearlie Mae Green, 94, of Elkhart, died on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend.

Pearlie Mae was born February 15, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Arthur and Effie Dean (Eisom) Woods Harwell. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Sharp and two sons, Alfred Green and Gordon Barbee, six brothers and six sisters.

She married James Green on January 24, 1954, in Covington, TN. James passed on October 5, 1987. Pearlie is survived by her children: Cathy (Leslie) Allen Sr. of South Bend, Charles (Dehra) Green of Sanford, NC, Dorothy (Robert) Honorable of Goshen, Linda (Tony) Capers of South Bend, and Mary Louise Woods-Pruitt of Fishers; two brothers, Charles (Ann) Woods of Elkhart and Elvin (Ann) Woods of Tennessee; 34 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.

Pearlie Mae was homemaker and a member of the Greater Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church.

Visitation for Pearlie Mae will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11 am until the hour of the service at 12 noon at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. The Rev. Danny Brown will officiate and burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
