Phyllis J. Drummond, 86, of Elkhart died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Hubbard Hill Estates. Phyllis was born on March 25, 1930 in Elkhart, to Alvin and Mary (Culp) Beery. Phyllis married Robert Clingerman in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1962. On June 20, 1964 she married William Drummond in Goshen. He survives. Phyllis is survived by daughter Janet K. (Ku Chuan) Hsaio, Tyngsborough, MA; son, Steve (Cindy) Clingerman, Palatine, IL; step daughters Victoria S. Drummond, Marysville, OH and Diana L. (R.J.) Davis, Cincinnati, OH; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and brother Max Beery (Eloise), Nappanee. Phyllis was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and writing. She was always there for her friends when they needed help. Phyllis was a wonderful pie baker. She was employed with Goshen High School where she worked in the cafeteria and was employed with Walgreens. Friends may call for an hour prior to the 11 am service, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Burchill. Burial will follow at a later date at the West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church or Hubbard Hill Estates.
