Phyllis E. Lightfoot, 76, Elkhart, died March 12, 2019 at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born Phyllis E. Mandel to Samuel and Sarah (Finegold) Mandel on November 13, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from high school in 1960 and then entered the United States Marine Corps. She was stationed in San Diego, CA and from there moved to Elkhart, IN.
She was married to Orbie (Bud) Lightfoot in March of 1970. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son Scott (Cheryl) Lightfoot.
Phillis worked in customer service for over 40 years. She was proud of her job and was often rewarded for her hard-working work ethics. Phyllis loved attending Native American Pow Wows, camping and trips to Ludington Beach. She enjoyed her home, her pool and flowers, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah (Randy) Williams, her son Paul (Karmen) Lightfoot and her 7 grandchildren, Ryan (Colleen) Williams, Cameron (Alaina) Lightfoot, Sydney (Chase) Barrett, Logan Williams, Malcolm Lightfoot, Addison and Morgan Lightfoot.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM. Burial with Military honors will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
