Ray A. Schlabach, 74, of Elkhart, died Saturday, January 21, 2017 at home. Ray was born on December 5, 1942 in Elkhart to Clarence and Francis (Schaefer) Schlabach.

Ray is survived by a daughter, Tabatha Hughes; 7 grandchildren; his companion Patricia Taylor, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Schlabach.

Ray was employed with the City of Elkhart in various departments. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 599. Ray loved to tinker with small engines, watch NASCAR and football.

Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm, Friday, January 27, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
