Richard Gary Thain, 54, of Elkhart died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his residence. He was born August 16, 1966 to John and Jaqueline (Hart) Thain in Elkhart.

Richard graduated Concord High School in 1984. He obtained his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1988 and cheered them on every year since. He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburg Steelers as well. Richard's game was golf, he thoroughly enjoyed it.

Richard married the love of his life, Jennifer Sanders, on August 7, 1999. His life was his wife and children, spending as much time as he could with them. Richard was very fond of traveling with his family.

To further prove his steadfast loyalty, he worked at Carpenter Company for 31 years as a general manager.

Left to cherish Richard's memory are his parents, John and Jacqueline Thain; his wife, Jennifer; mother-in-law, Carol Sanders; a son Nicholas Charles Thain; a daughter Brenna Madeline Thain; a sister, Jennifer (Brad) Haney of Goshen; sister-in-law Katie Thain of Ft. Wayne; sister-in-law Jackie Hopper; Niece and Nephews, Hannah Hopper, Trevor (Cassie) Thain, Phillip Thain, Mitchell (Sarah) Thain, Reid Haney, and Evan Haney.

Richard was preceded in death by his brother Jeremy Thain.

A visitation for Richard will take place from 5PM to 7PM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart. A private family service is scheduled.
