Royann L. Cross, 79, of Elkhart, reluctantly left this life on May 22, 2016 at home. Royann was born on November 29, 1936 in Valparaiso, IN to Roy and Marguerite (Erickson) Endsley. In 1988 she married Stanley Cross in South Bend. Royann was a kindergarten through second grade teacher, first at Rice and then Osolo. After retirement in 2006, she volunteered as a reading recovery teacher at Osolo and New Creation Academy. Royann leaves behind a grieving and loving husband, Stan; three sons, Rob (Elisa), John and Michael Nilsen, all of Elkhart; two sisters, Marge Manago and Gloria Daxe (Jeff) of Valparaiso and two brothers, Butch Endsley of Valparaiso and Burton Endlsey (Ruth) of San Jose, CA. Also her beloved granddaughter, Lindsay, Elkhart. Royann cherished her family and loved life, her yard with flowers, and traveling in the USA, Canada, and Europe, with Stan and family. She will be dreadfully missed by the many people who knew and loved her. Many children will have a better life for having her as a teacher.
