Sandra K. “Sandy” Slisz, 83, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Elkhart General Hospital.

She was born December 23, 1942, in Toledo, OH to the late Leon A. and Jeannette M. (Husted) Michalski. Also preceding her in death was her stepfather, Albert “Bud” Deuel, her brother, Harold L. Michalski, and her beloved Shih Tzu, Annie.

On May 31, 1974, Sandy married Thomas F. Slisz. Tom passed away on March 24, 2022. She is survived by her daughters, Tina M. Kahler and Robin (Albert) Fox, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Sandy was employed by L. E. Johnson Products in the office until her retirement. She loved to make latch hook rugs and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, and listening to music.

Sandy was gifted with a sweet soul. Her calling in life was to spread love and joy to her family and friends. She will always be remembered for bringing her family together for the holidays and creating traditions her family will cherish forever.

There will be no services. Sandy’s final resting place will be at Rice Cemetery. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
