Shirley Louise Sherer (Wilcox) passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart, at the age of 92.

Shirley was born on January 5, 1924 in Elkhart to the late Lewis and Beulah (Burns) Wilcox.  Also preceding her in death was one brother, Robert Wilcox.

On August 30, 1968, Shirley married Paul L. Sherer in Plymouth, IN.  Paul died on October 2, 1999.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Frank) Arnoux of Arlington Heights, IL, Nancy Bourn, Mark Roth, and Jack (Melanie) Sherer, all of Elkhart; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A class of 1942 graduate from Elkhart High School, Shirley worked for C.G. Conn for many years. In retirement she wintered in Port Charlotte, FL with her husband and enjoyed participating in local community activities.  Shirley also enjoyed painting with watercolors, which earned her several awards. After cremation she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. There will be no service. A memorial gathering will take place at a later date.
