Steven C. Estep, 61, of Elkhart, walked peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 10, 2016 at Elkhart Hospice House, with his family and friends at his side.
Steve was born on November 2, 1954 in Elkhart to Carl and Evelyn (Long) Estep. On April 27, 1974 he married Judith M. Miller. She survives, along with two sons, Pastor Jeff Estep (Jamie), New Paris and Matt Estep, Millersburg, IN; 3 grandchildren; Mother, Evelyn Estep of Goshen and brothers, Thomas (Marcia), Elkhart, Mark (Vickie), Cassopolis, MI, and Chip (Carol) Estep, Union, MI.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Carl Estep.
Steve was a 1973 Elkhart Central High School graduate. He spent several years employed with Excel Electronics as an Operations Manager, and enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family. Steve was previously a member of First Brethren Church of Elkhart, where he served as a Deacon, and was a leader in the Brethren Way of Christ movement. Steve and Judy are currently members of Sugar Grove Church in Goshen. Steve was a model of integrity, faith, humility, and strength to all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
Friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm, Friday, February 12, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and from 10 am until the 11 am service, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Sugar Grove Church with the Reverend Matt Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
