Trent A. Eekhoff, 45, of Elkhart and formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at home.

Trent was born on October 6th, 1971 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Dale and Paulette (Tjepkes) Eekhoff. On December 12, 2016, he married Amanda J. Malcom.  She survives.

Trent is also survived by a daughter, Lauren Eekhoff and a son, Tyler Eekhoff, both of Grand Rapids;  Parents, Dale and Paulette Eekhoff, Grand Rapids; a brother, Jeff (Karen) Eekhoff, Dexter, MI, and a grandfather, Melvin Tjepkes, Cedar Falls, IA.

Trent graduated high school in Thief River Falls, Minnesota and earned his Industrial Design degree from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI.  Trent became a successful entrepreneur with his helm seat business EDA (Eekhoff Design Associates) which eventually led to him being President of Bennington Marine where he retired in 2014.

Friends may attend the viewing from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 8 pm, Monday, July 24, 2017 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the funeral home.
