Velma L. (Eggleston) Yoder, 89, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart Hospice House on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.    She was born February 4, 1929 in Osceola to the late William & Ethel (Boyer) Eggleston.  Velma was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Brown and 13 brothers and sisters.

She married Wayne K. Yoder on November 16, 1946 in Elkhart.  He survives her.  She is also survived by sons, Steve Yoder of Elkhart, David (Dawn) Yoder of Elkhart, Terry Yoder of Indianapolis, daughter Pat (John) Long of Goshen, 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Velma worked part-time at Wilt's Supermarket and Fannie Mae Candy Store as well as being a homemaker.  She was a great mother and housewife.  She was a member of 1st Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor John Blodgett officiating.  There will be visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
