Vernon Paul Hackman, 95, of Bristol, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Elkhart Hospice House. Paul was born on April 4, 1921 in Elkhart to the late Edward F. and Maude (Fetterly) Hackman. On July 10, 1949 he married Orpha Heffner. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2006. Paul is survived by daughter Christine (Charles) Seymore, Mishawaka; Son, Jeffrey Hackman, Bristol and a sister, Vera Tavernier, Texas. Paul was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Paul was a graduate of Elkhart High School and attended Business School. He was a member of the American Legion in Bristol. Paul proudly served in the US Army during World War II. Friends may call from 12 pm (Noon) until the 2 pm service, Friday, April 15, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home with the Reverend Tom Thews officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery Memorial contributions may be donated to a charity of one's choice.
