Virginia M. Rieck, 96, of Elkhart, died at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.

Virginia was born March 25, 1925 in Elkhart to the late Donald and Goldie (Tharp) Garl.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Vernice Ward.

On July 20, 1944 Virginia married Edward D. Rieck in Jimtown.  Ed died September 24, 2015.  Surviving is a daughter, Cinda Beggs of Elkhart; one granddaughter, Dana (Chris) Hancock and one great grandchild, Tyler Hancock.

Virginia retired from Key Bank where she worked in the accounting department for many years.  She was a graduate of Jimtown High School and a longtime member of Central Christian Church.  She loved to cross-stitch and was a member of the Embroiderers Guild of America.

Graveside services for Virginia will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Rice Cemetery.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
