William L. "Bill" Dunlap, 75, of Elkhart, died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Elkhart Hospice House.
Bill was born February 12, 1941 in Cincinnati, OH to the late William and Norma (Bruening) Dunlap. Also preceding him in death was a brother-in-law, Robert Doda.
On May 4, 2000, Bill married Rhonda L. Markley in Nassau, Bahamas. She survives along with his two daughters: Julie (Scott) Borders of Noblesville, IN; Diana (Jeff) Ranstrom of Tampa, FL: four grandchildren: Matthew Borders, Michael (Elizabeth) Borders, Jonah Borders and Josiah Borders and two sisters, Janet (Tony) Macke of Sunman, IN and Judy Doda of Wilton Manors, FL.
Bill was employed for the last 42 years by Dexter Axle where he most recently served as senior vice president of engineering. He is also a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Valley Forge, stationed in Subic Bay, Phillipines.
An accomplished woodworker, Bill enjoyed photography, trapshooting, cooking and he was also known as "The Grillmaster". To say he was a handyman was an understatement. It seemed as if there wasn't anything that he couldn't do.

Family and friends of Bill will also gather Monday at 2:00 at the Creekside Church of the Brethren 60455 C.R. 113 Elkhart. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 outside in the church prayer garden with the Rev. Rosanna McFadden leading services.
