Willodean J. Larsen, 89, of Elkhart, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at Beardsley House Assisted Living.
Willodean was born on September 10, 1926 in Elkhart to Donald and Edna (Kauffman) Bowlby. On March 26, 1955 she married Leonard "Whitey" Larsen in Decatur, IN. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1987.
Willodean is survived by brothers, Byerl Bowlby, Elkhart, and Marvin Bowlby (Joan), Haines City, FL; nieces, Terri Longacre (Robb), Berla Bowlby, and Katrina Canarecci (Thomas), all of Elkhart; nephews, Craig Bowlby (Diane), Elkhart, Bruce Bowlby, Naples, FL, Kevin Bowlby, and Brian Bowlby (Chris), both of Nebraska, and many more beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law Virginia Heintz, Hendersonville, NC and a brother-in-law Jack L. Kindle, Wintergarden, FL.
Willodean was preceded in death by a niece Jeanine Heintz; nephews, Barry Kindle and Richard Heintz; sisters, Frances Kindle and Shirley Chism, and brothers, Robert Heintz, Ernest and Austin Bowlby.
Willodean was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir. She was employed with CTS Corp for over 40 years and was a member of the CTS Quarter Century Club. She was also active in the Joy Group. Willodean was an avid NASCAR fan. She was especially fond of her beloved dogs.
Friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and for an hour prior to the 1 pm service, Friday, August 5, at Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Pastor Michael Butler will officiate. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery.
