Pastor Winnie Lee Williams, 95, of Elkhart, passed away at home on Monday, May 21, 2018.

Winnie was born February 24, 1923 in Livingston, LA to the late Sam and Inezier (Paul) Frazier.  Also preceding her in death were an adopted son, Anthony Frazier, a step son, John Henry Williams, two sisters; her twin, Wincey Lee Glover and Albertha Allen and a brother, John Frazier.

In 1963, Winnie married George M. Williams.  He died in 1977.  Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Corine Lewis and Tyeisha Marie (Michael) Hyman, both of Elkhart, a step-daughter, Lois (Brent) Curry of Elkhart, a step son, Moyese (Dora) Williams of Texas, one sister, Myrtis Thomas of New Orleans, LA, a brother, Otis Rheams of Gonzales, LA; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Winnie lived her life serving the Lord.  She retired as the pastor of God's Holy Temple for All Nations in Elkhart and was a true "Prayer Warrior".  She always saw the good in people and even said that, "Everybody has good in them."  Winnie also was a foster parent, serving the Department of Public Welfare in Elkhart since 1972.  In 1988, she was awarded the AGAPE Award from the D.P.W. for "Her love of children."  Because of her service as a foster parent, Winnie has many, many "grandchildren and great grandchildren" in her large, blended family.

Visitation for Winne will be held on Friday May 25th from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 12:00 noon at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  Superintendent William C. Hackworth will officiate and burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
