Alan P. Mirabelle, 78, of Elkhart died on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at The Center for Hospice—Raclin House in Mishawaka.
He was born July 16, 1943 in Yonkers, NY to the late Richard and Edith (Beladino) Mirabelle.
A great man in everyman’s clothes, Alan truly lived. Having understood life is what you make of it, Alan dove in wholeheartedly. He played so many different roles throughout his life, including but not limited to: athlete, service man, financial analyst and planner, protector, provider, disciplinarian, ethicist, scuba diver, gambler, rollercoaster junky, business leader, beloved high school teacher, animal lover, and music aficionado. Any one of these roles could easily be expanded into its own hour-long conversation, filled with tales of love, laughter, and accomplishment. Alan thought that perhaps the greatest reward for a life well lived would be to be reincarnated as a golden retriever, and his family is inclined to agree. So be on the lookout for a new puppy in your life. It could be Alan.
Alan is survived by his wife Peggy, son Robert (Lisa) and brother Gary (Raquel). He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob. At the family’s request, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Alan made be made to your local Humane Society. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. To leave the family an online condolence, visit the family’s individual Facebook profiles or the funeral home website.
