Alice R. Washington

Alice R. Washington, 75, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at East Lake Nursing and Rehab Center in Elkhart.  She was born on May 7, 1943 to the late Roosevelt and Beatrice (Ross) Washington, Sr. in Beech Bluff, Tennessee. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Victor (Tara) Washington of Elkhart, daughter, Kimberly Ann (Percy) Magee of Minneapolis, MN, brothers, Roosevelt (Vivian) Washington, Jr. of Elkhart, Salvador Washington of Jackson, TN, sisters, Mildred McCurry of Jackson, TN, Ann Curry of Elkhart, Mattie (George) White, Sr. of Jackson, TN, Betty (Billy) Milan of Elkhart, TN, Brenda (Larry) Spivey of Jackson, TN, Maggie Whitener Washington of Elkhart, Gwendolyn Washington of Elkhart, Carol Sain of Jackson, TN, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Alice was a member of the Canaan Baptist church.  She loved flower gardening, reading her bible and spending time with her family. Alice claimed that shopping was her therapy.  Upon retiring from Miles/Bayer after 30+ years she worked part-time in the cafeteria at Roosevelt Elementary school for a couple of years.

Funeral Services will be held at Canaan Baptist Church, 933 Fieldhouse Ave, Elkhart on Wednesday September 12, 2018 at 12:00 PM.  The Rev. Macneal Stewart will officiate.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at Parkway Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN on September 15, 2018.
