Alicia M. (Mitchell) Mitchell

Alicia M. Mitchell, 51, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare in Elkhart.

She was born December 30, 1972, in Elkhart to Freddie McKnight Sr. and Edith Mitchell.

Alicia was employed as a home care giver with Home Instead and Always Best Care.  She was also employed by Concord Community Schools as a track and field coach.  She attended Vincennes University, and she absolutely adored her grandbaby, Braylon.

Surviving Alicia is her mother, Edith Mitchell of Elkhart, a daughter, Taquana La Queen Stanciel of South Bend, a son, Michael J. (Amanda) Horning of Van Wert, OH, her grandson, Braylon, four sisters: Sharon Mitchell of Surprise, AZ, Jennifer (Melvin) Wilson of Jamestown, NC, Denise (Jack) McCarey and Letha (Lee) McKnight-Anderson, both of Elkhart and her brother, Freddie (Cynthia) McKnight II, also of Elkhart

Visitation for Alicia will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, beginning at 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at New Vision of Life Church 400 W. Mishawaka Road in Elkhart.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 pm with the Rev. Marvin Pace officiating.  Cremation has taken place.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
