Barbara A. (Yunker) Ganger

Barbara A. Ganger, 84, of Goshen died on Sunday March 8, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Barbara was born November 5, 1936, in Elkhart to the late Franz and Hazel (Phillips) Yunker. Also preceding her in death is her son, Douglas Ganger and two brothers.  On December 15, 1957, Barbara married J. Harold Ganger in Elkhart.  Barbara is survived by her husband of 63 years. She is also survived by two children: Brynne Spiritoso of Goshen and Stephen Ganger of Edwardsburg, eight grandchildren: Jessica Ruckman, Ryan Ganger, Stephen Spiritoso, Stephanie Spiritoso, Grant Spiritoso, Holly Spiritoso, Ethan Ganger and Nathanael Ganger and six great-grandchildren: Alexa, Lucas, Reid, Jay, Maria and Mark.

After graduating from Concord High School Barbara attended Goshen College where she graduated with an associate degree in business. She loved to keep in touch with old friends from Concord High School, including those as far away as San Diego and Houston. Barbara spent many years attending Dunlap United Methodist Church where she was a past member. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Spending time with her family was something she cherished, most especially her grandchildren. 

Visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, March 12th from 10 to 11 am at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart. A private family service will take place. Barbara’s son Stephen Ganger will officiate. Barbara will be laid to rest in Frame Cemetery in Elkhart.
