Claude J. Wyres, 81, of Elkhart, Indiana died at 3:45 A.M. Monday at Greenleaf Living Center. He was born November 8, 1929 in Goshen to Claude E. and Alta Schrock Wyres. He married Lorraine Fredericks October 17, 1958 in Wakarusa, Indiana; she died August 22, 2010. Surviving is one brother Phillip Virginia Wyres of Elkhart; one sister Sandy Strugel and several cousins. One brother Steve and a sister Linda Baker preceded in death. Mr. Wyres was a graduate of Goshen High School and for 25 years was a driver for LaSalle Dietch and later drove for Stationers. Member of First United Methodist Church of Elkhart where he was head usher, member of the DAV Chapter 19, veteran of the U. S. Army and loved fishing. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and one hour prior to an 11:00 A.M. service Friday at First United Methodist Church 400 West Mishawaka Road in Elkhart with the Reverend Don Reed officiating. Burial will be in Olive West Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Wakarusa United Methodist Church.
