Cleveland "Pete" Irving Jr., of Elkhart, died at 10:49 p.m. Sat., March 16, 2013 at Elkhart General Hospital. Pete was born April 3, 1941 in Elkhart to Cleveland Sr. and Roberta (Curry) Irving. He is survived by his companion, Marilyn Whittington of Elkhart; daughter, Melanie (Reginald) Holland of Twinsburg, OH; brothers, David Irving of South Bend, Otis (Dana) Irving and Robert (Mickey) Irving both of Elkhart; sisters, Moneta Wells of Kankakee, IL, Ethel Cotton of Flint, MI, Gloria Jones of Detroit, MI, Clementine Irving of Milwaukee, WI, and Clarabelle Irving of Elkhart; grandchildren, Morgan and Trenton Holland and a host of nieces and nephews. Pete retired from Shaker Heights School, Shaker Heights, OH where he was facility coordinator. He was a member of Saint James AME Church. He was a veteran of the Navy.
