Conrad T. Nagel, 89, passed away the morning of Saturday, March 21, 2026 in Mishawaka, IN.
He was born on August 4, 1936 in Detroit, MI to the late Ted and Helen (Kowalski) Nagel. On April 2, 1988, he was united in marriage to Jean (Swanson) Nagel.
Conrad is survived by his loving wife, Jean, as well as his children, Natalie (Rodney) Nelson and Gregory (Erin) Nagel; step-children Eric (Cecilia) Younce and Erica (Carroll) Stone; 7 grandchildren; sister Karen (Ken) Robinson, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother, Bob Nagel.
Conrad proudly served his country as a member of the US Army from 1958-1962. He went on to work for many years as a social worker, and especially loved working with children. He had a great sense of humor and could always brighten someone’s day with a funny voice or impression. He had many hobbies, including photography, reading, and sketching cartoons. He was strong in his faith and loved his family.
Conrad was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Per Conrad’s wishes, cremation will take place. He will be laid to rest at Marion National Cemetery. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
