Constance "Connie" A. (Wiser) Maupin

Constance A. “Connie” Maupin, 67, of Osceola, died at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Connie was born on December 27, 1955 in Elkhart, IN to the late William N. and Martha L. (Borneman) Wiser.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, William F. Wiser.

On December 28, 1989, Connie married Dale E. Maupin in Mishawaka, IN.  Dale survives along with two sons: Nicholas Maupin of Osceola and Kyle Maupin of Mishawaka, IN; four grandchildren: Autumn, Ralph, April and Wynter and two sisters, Leslie L. Wiser of Everett, WA and Michele A. (Thomas E.) Miller of Mishawaka.

Connie was employed as a certified nursing assistant at St. Paul’s Life Plan Community in South Bend in her younger years and then a stay-at-home mother and wife.  She attended the New Life Church in Osceola.  Connie also enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, planting her flowers, being outdoors and enjoying nature and taking leisurely drives, especially those trips to Mackinac Island.  She loved rescuing animals from shelters and giving them a loving home.  She also enjoyed many conversations of memories, fun times and laughter with her close and loving friends, Tracy Artis and Michelle “Jimmy” Dixon.

Visitation for Connie will be held on Tuesday, April 11th from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at 11 am.  The Rev. Dr. Michael Cramer will officiate and burial will be in Rice Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions in memory of Connie may be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County 2506 Grape Road Mishawaka, IN 46545.
