Donald Alton Curtis, 74, of Elkhart passed away at 7:25 PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his home in the presence of his wife and daughter.
He was born April 18, 1945 in Elkhart to the late Thomas and Vera (Olson) Curtis.
Donald was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Navy. Post Navy, he served as volunteer firefighter for the Cleveland Township Fire Department for 14 ½ years. Don had been employed as an electronic service technician at Crown International. Prior to that, he had been employed by A E Techron. Don also attended Fresh Start Alliance Church.
He married Judy E. Thews on June 13, 1987 in Elkhart. She survives. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Brian, Faith, Liam, and Easton; three children, Mindy (Brandon) Replogle of Elkhart, Matt (Harley) Curtis of Howe, IN, and Andrew (Alyssa) Curtis of Sterling Heights, MI; a brother, Ron Curtis of Elkhart; and a sister Barb (Gerry) Pletcher of Cassopolis, MI.
Services for Donald will be held at Living Faith Fellowship 2601 Benham Ave. Elkhart on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 12 pm with visitation being held one-hour prior to services. The Rev. Les Stutzman will officiate and burial will be in Olive Cemetery where military honors will be rendered by sailors from the United States Navy and members of the American Legion and the D.A.V. Post 19 of Elkhart. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
