Doris A. (Hartzler) Parcell

Doris A. Parcell, 91, of Elkhart, died on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Hubbard Hill Estates in Elkhart.

She was born July 4, 1932, in Ansonia, OH to the late Paul S. and Dorothy M. (Cooper) Hartzler.  Also preceding her in death are two sons, Steven and Brent Scholfield, two sisters, Mary H. Blackwell and Rita Monk, a brother, Dr. Paul Hartzler and a grandson, Jeremiah Scholfield.

As Doris A. Hartzler, she married Max W. Scholfield on May 17, 1952, in Lafayette, IN.  Max died May 30, 1996.  She then married Wayne L. Parcell on May 17, 2000, in Elkhart County.  Wayne survives along with a daughter, Annie Lamb of Bristol; a son, Lynn (Sheila) Scholfield of Harrisonburg, VA; two stepsons, Steve (Pam) Parcell of Elkhart and Greg (Carol) Parcell of O’Fallon, IL.  Also surviving are nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Doris graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1950.  She then began working as an inspector for Duncan Electric in Lafayette, IN.  She then worked for Crown International briefly before taking a position with Electro Graph Enterprises as a manager before retiring in 1980.  She was a member of Beulah Missionary Church where she was very active.  She taught Sunday school for fifteen years, served on the Church Community Service Board and was the director of the Beulah Cradle Roll.  She was also a 30-year member of the Beulah Missionary Church Choir.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 4 pm until 6 pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at 11 am on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Beulah Missionary Church 57595 Old C.R. 17 Goshen, IN 46528.  The Rev. Kelley Sewell will officiate and burial will be in Frame Cemetery in Elkhart.
