Elaine Caroline (Becker) Heeg

Elaine C. Heeg, 93, of Elkhart, died Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. Elaine was born on August 31, 1930 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to the late Albert and Hilda (Brey) Becker.  

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, husband John Heeg and three siblings: Ronald Becker, Florence Peloquin and Albert Becker.

Elaine is survived by her children: Dennis (Dala) Heeg, Curt (JoAnne) Heeg, Jacalyn (Thomas) O’Hara, Cheryl (John) Simcox and James (Jane) Heeg. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Adam (Abbey) Heeg, Josh (Lisa) Heeg, Kady O’Hara, Jayme O’Hara, Nicholas Heeg, Ally Heeg, Kassie Simcox and two great-grandsons, Hank and Pete Heeg. As well as her siblings: Geraldine Guibord and Edwin Becker.

Elaine worked in the personnel department at the Elkhart Community Schools for 27 years and retired in 1993. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for 60 years. She was involved in many ministries there and touched countless lives with her generous spirit.

Elaines greatest joy was being with family and friends. In the summer months, you could always find her outside tending to her flowers and engaging in warm conversations with friends in the neighborhood. She was truly a friend to everyone and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Elaine will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 10AM – 11AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Elkhart with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
