Elizabeth M (Thain) Sindell

Elizabeth M. “Betty” Sindell, 92, of Cassopolis, formerly of Elkhart, died on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the Cass County Medical Care Facility in Cassopolis.

Betty was born on May 2, 1932, in Hayes Middlesex, United Kingdom to the late Charles and Dilys (Griffiths) Thain.  Also preceding her in death are a son, Nigel “Paul” Sindell and a brother, Howard Thain.

On August 18, 1951, she married Albert Sindell.  He died December 31, 1997.  Elizabeth is survived by a son, Ian Sindell of Cassopolis, one granddaughter, Danielle (Lance) Antisdel of Cassopolis, three great grandchildren, Marlana, Brady and Lillian and a brother, John (Jacqueline) Thain of Goshen.

Betty came to the United States in 1957 from Wales.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, sailing, traveling to the United Kingdom to see her family, especially her family in Wales and attending the Cass County Fair each year.

Visitation for Betty will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.  There will be no funeral service.
