Eugene C Williamson

Eugene C. “Gene” Williamson, 93, of Elkhart passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at his residence.

Gene was born on March 13, 1926 in Cass County, Michigan to the late Ben and Ruba (Bement) Williamson.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Pabreza and a son-in-law, James Seybold.

On October 17, 1948 in Elkhart, he married the former June Johnson.  She survives along with their three daughters: Delores (Donald) Smith of Elkhart; Donna Seybold of Champaign, IL; Linda Williamson and her husband Ed Rockstein of Columbia, MD; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren (with one more due soon); a sister, Ann (Donald) Harness of Cassopolis, MI and a brother-in-law, George Pabreza of Edwardsburg, MI and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was employed for 30 years by Adams-Westlake and for another seven years at Stoutco before retiring in 1989.  A veteran of the United States Army, he was also a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Elkhart.  An avid sports fan, Gene especially enjoyed bowling, Detroit Tigers baseball and Indiana University basketball.

Visitation for Gene will be Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at Augustana Lutheran Church 1133 Kilbourn St. Elkhart.  Sister Nora Frost will officiate services and entombment will be in Rice Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
