Eunice Edmonds Obituary

Eunice Klaire Hudson Edmonds (née Lund), 95, formerly of Elkhart, passed peacefully on November 12, 2020 at Wellbrooke of Carmel in Carmel, IN.

Eunice spent her life engaging with her community and friends through church, the Elks Lodge, and social groups. She especially enjoyed playing bridge and exploring the world beyond Northern Indiana through travel throughout the U.S. and Europe. She found beauty in nature which inspired Eunice to capture scenery in paintings, foster budding plants throughout her home, and collect a variety of bird-related items.

Born in Elkhart on April 15, 1925, to Henry and Alma (Paulson), Eunice enjoyed her childhood with sisters, Jean Atwater and Dorothy Smith, and brothers, John and Bruce Lund. She lived and worked in Elkhart for most of her life, leaving only for her travels and to live for a short time in Hagerstown, MD.

Eunice worked in banking and as an Office and Credit Manager for LaSalle-Deitch before spending her retirement with her nearby family and friends. She was also a member of Augustana Lutheran Church.

With her first husband, Charles M. Hudson, Eunice welcomed daughters, Rebecca (James) Rutherfoord of Georgia, and Jeri Hudson of Elkhart, and son, Charles (Deborah) Hudson of Westfield. She married Joseph Edmonds on March 14, 1985. Together, they shared 11 years of marriage, and Eunice found great joy with Joe as her dance and travel partner. She was the loving grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren to whom she taught her favorite card and board games and shared stories and memories of her travels and experiences.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Joseph; her parents; sisters; brother, John; and first husband, Charles.
