Fred J. Shrock

Fred J. Shrock, 83, of Elkhart died on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his home.

He was born November 20, 1937 in Washington, IN to the late Edd and Fanny (Yoder) Shrock. He married Janet Surls on February 24, 1978.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janet Shrock and seven siblings: Alma Knepp, Paul Shrock, Martha Slaubaugh, Sials Shrock, Pete Shrock, David Shrock and Edward Shrock.

He is survived by his children: Beth (Al) Witkowski of Elk Grove Village, IL, Gail (Jim) Davies of Greenville, SC and Scott (Cynthia) Shrock of Granger; two stepdaughters: Kim (Kevin) Foy of Elkhart and Cynthia (David) Bravard of Bristol. Also surviving Fred is his sister: Phyllis Schrock of Hesston, KS and his 10 grandchildren.

Fred graduated from Washington High School in 1956. He later attended Goshen College. Fred was owner and president of Shrock Manufacturing Inc. in Elkhart from 1978-2013. Fred loved to golf, he was a member of the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, Bent Oaks Men’s Golf Association as well as the Estero Country Club Men’s Golf Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 20, 2021 at Bent Oaks Country Club in Elkhart from 1-4pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
