Johanna Giglio Obituary

Johanna (Trivieri) Giglio, aka Meme, was called home just before midnight November 19, 2020 after a short illness. She was a light on this earth like no other and will be sorely missed by all who know her. She loved God, family and country.   We know nothing lasts forever, people we love will leave our lives, but what stays is how forever they changed us. Meme never met a stranger.

The youngest of nine, she was born to Anthony and Jennie Trivieri in Utica, New York. She loved her big family and spoiled all of her 37 nieces and nephews who she formed great bonds.  She married the love of her life, Rocco Giglio, in July 1963 and moved to Elkhart Indiana.  Here she became known for being a great friend and very involved in the community.  Any of those lucky enough to have been invited to her table, knows she was a wonderful cook and entertainer, making all feel welcome.   She always used her special ingredient, love.

She had many roles over the years, but most of all she was a wife, mother, grandmother and was anxiously awaiting her first great grandson.  She was also a great friend to so many. Friends quickly became part of the family and everyone knew there was always the Giglio house to go to for a good meal and a second home.

She also was very dedicated to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bristol. She served as an eucharistic minister, made meals for events and always planted the flowers around the church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and six of her siblings, Teresa Haddad, Jo Guardi, Larry Trivieri, Angie (& John) Fusco, Margaret (& Frank) Aiello and A.J. Trivieri. Also her brother in law, Dan Giglio and sister in law Marilyn Trivieri.

She leaves behind her adoring husband of 57 years, her daughters, Lisa Stawicki, Gina (Jim) Wolff, and Jana Giglio Williams. Her grandchildren, Jordan Stawicki (Frank), Maddie (Ray) Cheselka, Alicia Wolff, Sophie Wolff (Noah), Nathan Williams, Ben Stawicki (Sydney), Vincent Williams and great grandson Jace Wolff. Her brothers, Nick and Gerald Trivieri also survive, along with in laws Lucille (David) Phillipson, Marylou Giglio, Joyce Trivieri and Frank Guardi.

We would like to thank all that loved her.  And special thanks to Father Bob and to Kevin Wirt for helping us make the arrangements.
