John W. Sands

John W. “Squaz” Sands, 69, of Granger, died at home on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

John was born on July 2, 1954, in San Diego, CA to John W. and Louisa C. (Santucci) Sands.  He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Jody Sands.

“If you’re reading this, I’m on an exciting journey with Jesus!  That sums up the importance of my obituary. For those left behind, let me recognize my wife, Marsha, and her family; my children: Tony and Jess Sands and their children, J.J., Clara and Jack; Britney Sands (Michael Ratkovich) and her daughter, Quincy and my mother, Louisa.  It’s leaving these people behind that is the hardest. I love them so.”

Private graveside services for John will be held at Prairie Street Cemetery where Rev. Greg Serafino and Kent Yoder will officiate.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
