Judith Ann Cook, 84, of Elkhart, died Friday, August 27, 2021 at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart.
Judith was born November 17, 1936 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late John D and Helen (Grimes) Pfister. She married Gilford Cook in Elkhart on July 12, 1958.
She is survived by her husband Gilford Cook; Three sons: Michael (Sheila Smith) Cook of Niles, MI, Douglas Cook of Elkhart and Christopher (Jennifer Thomas) Cook of North Carolina. A brother David (Karen) Pfister of Elkhart. Judith is also survived by three grandchildren.
Judith graduated in 1958 from the Indiana University School of Nursing. She had been employed as a registered nurse for a number of years at Elkhart General Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Finfrock for over 35 years. After her retirement, she worked at Martin’s Pet and Garden.
Judith was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart. Judith was also part of the Four Winds Garden Club; The Elkhart Homemakers and she was also a master gardener. She was also a Den mother for the Cub Scouts as well as a Scout Leader for the Boys Scouts. She and her husband Gil were involved with Boy Scouts for over 50 years.
A visitation for Judith will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 5pm-7pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral in Elkhart. A funeral service for Judith will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11am with 2 hours of visitation prior to the service at Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Judith may be made to the Wellfield Botanic Gardens or the Four Winds Garden Club, both at 1011 N. Main St. Elkhart, IN 46514.
