Kennyatta Jackson Obituary

Kennyatta A. Jackson, 48, of Elkhart, passed away at Elkhart General Hospital on Tuesday, February 7,2023.

Kennyatta was born on February 1, 1975, in Elkhart to Thomas L. and Pearl (Grant) Suggs.  He was preceded in death by her father and a son, Thomas Suggs.

She was formerly employed by KIK as a line leader and prior to that, she worked at Woodland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elkhart.  Kennyatta was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and was always making people laugh.   Her personality was larger than life and she was always ready to help when help was needed.  Above all else, she enjoyed life and being with her family.

Surviving is her mother, Pearl Suggs of Sikeston, MO; two sons: Deontay Suggs and Khamani Jackson, both of Elkhart; two grandchildren; two brothers: Anthony (Katie) Suggs and Tommie Suggs, both of Elkhart; three sisters: Terasa (Jerry) Lane of Goshen, Anissa Gary of Elkhart, Tijuana Griffin of Clarksville, TN; sister/cousin, Tabatha (John) Royal of Elkhart and her significant other, Charles Peete of Elkhart.

Funeral services for Kennyatta will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where visitation will be held for one hour prior to services.  The Rev. Danny Brown of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.  Cremation will follow services.
