Loretta J. Andrews, 74, of Elkhart, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart.
Loretta was born October 3, 1947 in Dowagiac, MI to the late Jack and Lucinda (Dickerson) Young, Sr.
On May 14, 1978 she married Willie Andrews in Grand Rapids, MI. He survives along with two daughters: Anita (Ed) Sanders and Christine (Eric) Williams, both of Elkhart; one son, Michael Andrews of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four sisters: Carol (James) Peat of Avon, IN, Kathryn (Melvin) DuBose of Glendale, AZ, Marie (Marlow) McCain of Nolanville, TX, Gail (Kevin) Brown of Bolingbrook, IL and five brothers: Jack (Beverly) Young Jr. of Vandalia, MI, Robert Young of Murietta, CA, Alan (Veronica) Young of Manor, TX, Timothy (Vada Lynn) Young of Mattawan, MI and Steven (Sarah) Young of Allen, TX. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Loretta held many jobs in her life but the one that brought her the most joy was working at Dollar Tree. She enjoyed going to the casino, watching sports (especially Notre Dame women’s basketball), traveling and was an avid bowler, bowling in a league for many years. Being with her family, especially her grandchildren, brought her the most joy.
Visitation for Loretta will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from noon until the hour of the service at 1:00 pm, all held at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Loretta’s brother, Bishop Alan Young will officiate. Burial will be in the Bogue Street Cemetery in Vandalia, MI.
