Marcus G. Belt

Marcus “Marc” G. Belt, 76, of Elkhart, died at home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Marc was born on October 3, 1948, in Elkhart, IN to the late James Dorsey and Eva Irene (Heeter) Belt.  He was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Michael Lee Belt, at the age of four months, due to SIDS and two half-brothers, Roger Allen and Phillip Earl Perkins.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and for many years, was employed as a welder in the RV/MH industry.  Marc struggled with depression most of his life and he was a recovering alcoholic.  He has been sober since 1978 and for many years was very active in AA.  Marc also enjoyed reading.

Marc is survived by his sister, Sue Ann (John) Nettro of Elkhart and nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time.  Marcus has been cremated and graveside services will take place at a later date.  He will be laid to rest with his parents and twin brother.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
