Mary S. (Suggs) Brown

Mary S. Brown, 73, of Elkhart died Friday, December 3, 2021 at her home. Mary was born on January 31, 1948 in Glendora, Mississippi to the late Thad Flowers and Luddie Mae (Lockhart) Suggs. She later married Karl W. Brown Sr. he preceded her in death on April 25, 2002.

Mary is survived by her children: Calvin Earl Suggs of Elkhart and Anita (Michael) Hawkins of Elkhart. She is also survived by three siblings: Thad Suggs of Elkhart, Leo (Cathy) Suggs of Milledgeville, GA and Lucy (Joe) Gary of Indianapolis, IN. As well as her grandchildren, Mikiea, Anequia, Michael Hawkins, Jr. and 7 other grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Cleofis Suggs and five siblings: Theodore Flowers, Tommie Lee Suggs, Ira Mae Barnett, Ozie Suggs and Ida Mae Gamble.

Mary was a member of The Church Without Walls in Elkhart. She was part of the praise team at her church and other churches in her community. She also participated in local church choirs where she loved to sing. Mary also loved to work out in her yard and garden tending to her flowers. She also loved her Cadillacs that she had over the years.

A private family service will be held.
