Mary Mann Obituary

Mary Ellen Mann, 80 of Elkhart went to be with her lord and savior on November 22, 2020 at Elkhart General Hospital.  Mary was born in Lafayette, Indiana on August 7, 1940 to the late Harold and Ethel (Crosby) Hoppe. 

Mary moved to Elkhart in 1979. While living in Elkhart Mary enjoyed helping the people in her community and as well as always having fun and positive outlook on life. She loved to travel and to spend as much time as she could with her family. Mary was also a lifetime member of both the DAV-19 and the Bristol American Legion.

Mary was preceded in death by a son Jeff Weist; one brother Paul Hoppe; three sisters Velma Sutton, Doris Garber and Janet Blanchette; and her late husband’s Marvin Weist who passed in 1987 and Jerald Mann who passed in 1993. Mary was also preceded in death by a great-granddaughter Kelsie.

She is survived by her children; son, David (Linda) Weist of Walkerton, IN; daughters, Tammy (Rex) Clauss of Valparaiso, IN, Terry (Ted) Gay of Goshen and Darla Weist of Granger. Mary is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held for Mary. A public graveside service for Mary will be Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:30am at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart. Alan Sutton will officiate. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
