Nicholas "Nicky" Papa

Nicholas “Nicky” Papa, 84, of Elkhart, died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at East Lake Nursing and Rehab Center in Elkhart.

Nicky was born July 30, 1937 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Nicholas and Mary (Ronzone) Papa.

Nicky is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margie Artley.  He is survived by his brother, Bill Papa of Reno, NV. Nicky is also survived by five nieces and nephews: Lisa Papa, Patrick (Kami) Papa, Shane (Amy) Benson, Aaron Benson and Christy (Jamie) Watson.

Nicky had many hobbies over his life. He enjoyed collecting items such as old keys and locks which is collection through many decades. Nicky also enjoyed meeting new people and getting their birthdays which, he would write down and have a complete record of everyone’s birthday that he met. He could also remember your phone number as well and loved calling his friends and family to chat with. He loved to listen to polka music. Nicky worked at Ronzones Bakery where he held many different positions.

A visitation for Nicky will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 from 9am-10am followed by a service at 10am at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home in Elkhart. Nicky will be laid to rest at St. Vincent Cemetery in Elkhart.
