Norma F. Boggs, 88, of Osceola, formerly of Elkhart, died on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart.
Norma was born in South Bend, IN on July 17, 1935, to the late Glenn A. and Floy E. (Wolfe) Johnson. She was also preceded in death by a son, Irvin H. Boggs in 1978 and two half-brothers, Glenn Johnson and Bruce Johnson and his wife, Julie. She is survived by two nieces; Jennifer (Jim) Kalb of New York and Leslie (Peter) Kaplan of Pennsylvania; two nephews; four great nieces and six great nephews. She is also survived by her two good friends, Sue Hanna and Darlene Seevers.
She worked as a secretary for many years at Reliable Tax Service. She also was employed by T.R. A. and associates.
Norma was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School, and she was very active in the choir and the glee club. Norma loved to sing. In fact, she met Elvis Presley and ended up being a back-up singer in his band. She liked to watch NASCAR and was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. She also enjoyed going out to lunch, especially with Hanna or Darlene.
There will be no visitation or service for Norma. Her request was to be cremated. Private committal services will be held in Rice Cemetery at a future date. Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
