O. Delores Conley

O. Delores Conley, 94, of Elkhart, died on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Greenleaf Health Campus in Elkhart.

Delores was born in Elkhart, IN on March 7, 1929, to the late Louis M. and Vanessie Ann (Vaughn) Schmuhl.  Also preceding her in death are four sisters: Sarah Jane Becker, Doris Ann Hostetler, Regina Jones and Mildred Springston, three brothers: Louis, Warren and Burdette Schmuhl.

On October 28, 1950, in Elkhart, Delores married Jack T. Conley.  Jack died on February 2, 2002.  Surviving are two daughters; Karen Kletka of Elkhart and Valerie Conley of Anderson; one son, Martin Conley of Elkhart; three grandchildren; Jeremy Montgomery, Truman Tappan and Audrey Bishop, seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Schmuhl of Elkhart.

Delores was employed by Miles Labs as an auditor/quality assurance inspector for 26 years.  She also was a member of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church.

Visitation for Delores will be held on Monday, November 27th from 2 pm until 6 pm at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home where services will be held on Tuesday, November 28th at 11 am.  The Rev. Mike Eddy will officiate services and Delores will be laid to rest next to Jack at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
