Ollie Marie Edmonds, 85, died October 3, 2022 at her home in Holly Springs, Georgia. She was born as a reflection of love between Mamie Robinson Boykin and Charlie Boykin on February 24, 1937 in Brighton, Tennessee. She was one of eight children.
As a young adult Ollie relocated to Elkhart, Indiana. Upon moving to Elkhart Ollie became a faithful member of St. James AME Church where she was a faithful member until her death. As a committed member of St. James Ollie shared her time and talents in many ways. She was a dedicated member of the Missionary Board and Usher Board. Ollie utilized her strong work ethic and kind spirit to a career at Domore for decades as a Corporate Office Furniture Assembler.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mamie Robinson Boykin and Charlie Boykin. Her brothers Rudolph Boykin and Hurschel Boykin. Sisters Helen Coleman and Bettie Calhoun; her son Quincy Jackson and the love of her life and husband Earl Edmonds.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Lucille Boykin of South Bend, IN; Demetris Jackson (Chris) of Buford, GA. Norvella Reed (Tony), James Jackson and Stuart Jackson all of Elkhart, IN. Marlene Jackson and Jeffery Jackson (Kim) of Atlanta, GA. Two sisters; Charlean Alston of Houston, TX and Geraldine Bragg (Ernest) of Los Angeles, CA. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of family and friends. As well as a brother Floyd Boykin who joined her in glory just days after she transitioned into eternity.
The Celebration of Life for Ollie Edmonds will be held on Saturday October 15th, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with the viewing from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. James AME Church located at 122 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Elkhart, Indiana 46516. A graveside service will then follow at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart.
