Richard Bruce Eggleston, 88, of Elkhart died Monday, January 18, 2021 at his home.
He was born April 30, 1932 to the late Harold and Evelyn (Lunsden) Eggleston in Grand Rapids, MI. Richard married Bonnie Fleisher on May 18, 1999.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter; Denise Stephenson, a brother Harold Eggleston Jr., granddaughter Amy Perry and a great-grandson Dayvid Miller.
Richard is survived by his wife of 21 years Bonnie Eggleston, sons; Michael Eggleston and Nicholas Ludlow, daughters; Terri Rowen and Christina Castro-Ludlow, a sister; Lorraine Copron. Richard is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Richard was a United States Veteran serving in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was also an avid bowler, bowling at Oakland Lanes in a league for over 20 plus years. Richard loved the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed going to the home games in Detroit. He always enjoyed going out to eat and seeing familiar faces. Richard also loved to watch old westerns as well as professional wrestling.
A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 from 4-6pm at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home as well as 2 hours prior to the 1pm service on Tuesday January 26, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart where military honors will be held for Richard. Arrangements have been entrusted with Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.
