Richard Carl Young

Richard Carl Young. 74, passed away at home in Elkhart, Indiana, on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Richard was born on May 31, 1949, in Elkhart to the late Richard E. and Jo Alliene (VanArsdall) Young.

On June 1, 1968, Richard married Louise D. Martin in Elkhart.  She survives along with their daughter, Jodie (Mark) Wolschlager of Elkhart; a son, Jeff Young of Boise, ID; five grandchildren: Rebecca Neveu, Darin Young, Jack (Destiny), Daniel and Natalie Wolschlager; two great grandchildren, Madelyn and Asher Neveu; his stepmother, Donna Young of Elkhart and a half sister, Linda (Patrick) Duffy, also of Elkhart.

Richard was employed in quality control at several local tool and die companies, retiring in 2011.  He was a member of Bristol Community Church, enjoyed NASCAR and was a huge Notre Dame fan.

At this time, there will be no service.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Richard may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 9135 N. Meridian St. STE. B-4 Indianapolis, Indiana 46209-7109.
