Robert Dean Monroe of Elkhart passed away July 27, 2020 at Golden Living Center at the age of 76. He was born September 1, 1943 in Beecher, WI to William and Veronice (Belling) Monroe. He spent his early years in Pembine, WI.
After Dean’s mother died when he was a little boy, he and his father moved to Manistee, MI. He graduated high school there, and moved to his sister’s, Dolly, home in Elkhart. He was in the Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Okinawa. After his discharge he was a laborer at various RV related businesses.
Dean is survived by three nieces, Jan Mast, Cheryl Hall, and Linda Evans; one nephew, Allen Veich; and two cousins, Cindy Rothel and Linda Ward.
Being from northern Wisconsin, he was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Everyone knew not to call him when the Packers were playing.
Arrangements are being handled by Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. There will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place.
